SD-1 (Shadow Detector)
What does it do? Obviously, the goal is to detect shadow figures.
How does it do it? SD1 checks the current luminescence level and compares it to the previous level about 15 times per second. If something moves between the light source and the SD1 that reduces the light level, it will sound a short audible alarm. It also automatically calibrates to the ambient light level so it will always be able to respond to light level changes
What good does that do?
– How many times have you watched or conducted an investigation where they think they saw a shadow figure but have no evidence or there is questionable video and nothing else? Now, imagine watching an investigation where they think they saw a shadow figure and at the same time, the SD1 alerts! Using the SD1 gives you another source of evidence. Multiple evidence sources of an event always have more validity than just “a feeling”.
Instructions
Requires 3 AAA batteries. The battery compartment is located on the rear of the unit
Simply switch the power button. Place in a location where there is a suspected shadow figure.
Make sure that you or your crew are not between the SD-1 and a light source or you could get a false alert.
When a reduction in ambient light is detected, a short audible alarm is played.
